Maroc and Chari.ma join forces for the digital transformation of Moroccan grocers

CThis initiative is fully in line with the 2030 Digital Plan, which aims to make Morocco a digital leader in Africa.

Thanks to this partnership, Morocco and Chari.ma will provide Moroccan local retailers with tailor-made digital solutions. Chari will then be able to count on the distribution network of the Dislog group, itself, the exclusive logistics partner of Chari.ma.

This collaboration will allow retailers to improve their competitiveness, by facilitating payments and accessing new financial services.

This partnership will also contribute to financial inclusion by offering merchants and their customers innovative and secure payment solutions.

This partnership constitutes a major contribution to achieving the objectives of the 2030 Digital Plan, particularly in terms of developing the digital economy.

Hendrik Kasteel, CEO Orange Morocco, underlined: “This partnership with Chari.ma demonstrates our desire and commitment to supporting Morocco in its digital transformation. By equipping Moroccan local retailers with the most efficient digital tools, we are helping to strengthen the attractiveness of our digital ecosystem.”

Ismael Belkhayat, CEO and co-founder of Chari.ma, declared: “the vast majority of Moroccan grocery stores already distribute the services of the telecom operator Orange. This partnership with Orange will allow Chari to digitalize the distribution process of these services by adding them to its eCommerce application. This will help to better train grocers in the use of digital technology and will contribute to the digital inclusion of this population.” This alliance is part of a broader dynamic aimed at making Morocco a benchmark digital hub in Africa.

Orange Maroc and Chari.ma are determined to play a driving role in this transformation and thus contribute to the sustainable development of the country.
