AI and human capital at the heart of digital transformation – Today Morocco

Organized recently in Marrakech, the 7th Ausim Conference brought together the elite of digital in Morocco. On this occasion, several highlights marked this event including the presentation of two white papers focused on major themes, namely AI and digital talents in Morocco.

Ausim unveiled two white papers focused on two major themes during its 7th Conference which took place from October 23 to 25 in Marrakech. The first is called “Digital talents in Morocco, challenges, policies and perspectives”, in partnership with Atos and the Diorh firm, while the second has the theme “Adopting AI in your business: A strategic plan”. The first book focuses on the major challenges related to talent management in the digital sector. In addition, a key section is dedicated to the results of a survey conducted among IT and HR professionals, offering a detailed analysis of the issues of talent attractiveness and retention in Morocco. As for the second book, it explores best practices for integrating artificial intelligence effectively into businesses, shining the spotlight on its concrete applications.

Humans, a “central element” for digital transformation
Talent management is essential to support digital transformation. The white paper published by Ausim offers ten recommendations for better management of IT & digital skills. For a digitally competitive company, this document suggests adopting a “Human Centric” approach. “A company which values its human capital, which rewards efforts, communicates around the exploits of its employees, asks for the opinion of its employees in a process of continuous improvement, uses social networks to promote the Human Centric culture to which it believes is a company that attracts talent and wants to stay there,” explains the same document. This book also recommends opting for diversified, inclusive and sustainable human capital and focusing on the attractiveness of the company’s working environment. It also calls for greater emphasis on continuing training and taking advantage of the power of new technologies, including predictive analysis and AI. “A company’s human capital and its entire life cycle generate a source of important data accumulated over years.
This data can be transformed into predictive models of the future of skills and talents within the company, thus helping to improve talent management strategies and rectify the systems put in place,” underlines the same source. Even more, this book recommends being aware of the importance of maintaining healthy mental health in a hyper-connected work environment. “The company faces the challenge of moderating the use of technological tools by its employees by putting in place the necessary measures, including raising awareness of the overconsumption of media tools, limiting working time in front of screens and in high-frequency rooms, a policy against cyber attacks, establishing partnerships with professionals in the field (therapy for example, etc.),” specifies the same source. For a nation with a strong digital impact, this document proposes supporting initial and continuing training, developing the culture of entrepreneurship, developing a solid digital ecosystem and further simplifying administrative procedures.

AI, an essential ally for the company
Presented as part of a round table on artificial intelligence during the 7th edition of the Ausim Conference, this white paper (Adopting AI in your business: A strategic plan) produced in partnership with AI Crafters aims to aims to offer companies a complete roadmap to succeed in their digital transformation thanks to artificial intelligence. Designed as a methodological guide, it offers a detailed and pragmatic approach to integrating AI into business and decision-making processes in a strategic and progressive manner,” explains Ausim. This book explains why AI is essential today and reveals the results of its survey on the adoption of AI by businesses and administrations in Morocco. “In a context of rapid digital transformation, the adoption of AI is no longer just an option, but a strategic necessity. Although AI is widely adopted by Moroccan companies, particularly large companies and some SMEs, significant disparities remain in its deployment. The results of our survey, which we will present to you in detail in the following section, made it possible to identify several obstacles to this adoption, in particular the lack of internal skills and the difficulties of technological integration,” notes the same source. And added: “According to the Gartner study, by 2025, 75% of companies will have integrated AI-based solutions to improve their processes. However, our survey reveals that nearly 60% of companies surveyed still face difficulties linked to the absence of specialized talent, thus hindering the implementation of effective AI solutions. This lack of skills is a major factor slowing down the race for innovation. Thus, the survey on the adoption of artificial intelligence within Moroccan companies and administrations reveals a landscape in full transformation, marked by a growing awareness of the benefits of AI, but also by structural and organizational challenges. . “The results show increased awareness of AI, particularly at executive level, and adoption largely oriented towards operational applications to improve efficiency and optimize processes. However, the more strategic integration of AI remains limited, offering opportunities to be seized to maximize its impact,” underlines the same source.
And to continue: “With 91% of entities declaring themselves familiar with AI concepts and active use by almost half of respondents, the adoption of AI in Morocco is in a growth phase. Executives display a higher level of understanding than other employees, illustrating a progressive awareness within organizations. However, this disparity in the level of knowledge shows the need to democratize access to AI skills through more structured training programs.
