A cyclist was hit by a motorist on a boulevard in western Paris on Tuesday October 15. A few minutes before the tragedy, a heated exchange between the young man and a 52-year-old motorist, in the car with his teenage daughter. According to witnesses, the driver deliberately knocked down the 27-year-old man on a bicycle. The cyclist was killed instantly.

The driver was arrested and a murder investigation was opened. In recent years, there have been increasing reports of cyclists being attacked by violent drivers. For a specialized lawyer, providing proof of an assault can be difficult. “This voluntary violence is often transformed into simple involuntary injuries, because the prosecution cannot obtain proof of the intention to strike”explains Me Michel Benezra, lawyer. Some cyclists prefer to bring a camera.
