Guy-Concordia station | Stabbed man succumbs to his injuries

An altercation between two people degenerated Saturday evening on the platform of the Guy-Concordia metro station, direction Honoré-Beaugrand, in Montreal. A 37-year-old man, attacked with a sharp object to the upper body, died of his injuries at the hospital.

The events took place at 11:20 p.m. Saturday evening. It’s the 29the murder to occur on the territory of the island of Montreal in 2024.

The file was sent to the crimes section of the Montreal City Police Service (SPVM). Investigators went to the scene to analyze the scene and understand the circumstances surrounding this event.

A security perimeter was erected around exit A of Guy-Concordia station, at the intersection of rue Saint-Mathieu and boulevard De Maisonneuve, and was still in place Sunday morning around 9 a.m.

“For the moment, there has not yet been an arrest, but the investigation is continuing,” underlines Jean-Pierre Brabant, media relations officer for the SPVM.

Several witnesses were met by investigators. A man was reportedly seen leaving the Guy-Concordia metro station in a currently unknown direction.

The metro on the green line did not make the stop at Guy-Concordia station late Saturday evening then early Sunday morning, but service then resumed around 7 a.m. Sunday, according to the social networks of the Société de transport de Montreal (STM).
