A first victory at its new home for André Tourigny’s team

It was a historic night yesterday in the NHL.

The Utah team was playing its very first career game at its new home, and there were also two other games presented elsewhere in the league.

Let’s see how it went:

1: It’s off to a good start

Utah fans were there for the first home game.

Before the start of the meeting, there was really quite an atmosphere in the amphitheater and Gary Bettman was in the front row to witness it:

André Tourigny’s team wasted no time before pleasing its new supporters.

In the first period, Dylan Guenther scored after a few minutes of action, and Clayton Keller, who now wears the “C” on his jersey, doubled his team’s lead before the end of the period:

It’s off to a good start!

We really felt that the Utah players were motivated in front of their new fans and it really showed on the ice.

During the second period, Barrett Hayton deflected a shot from Mikhail Sergachev to make it 3-0:

It was really afterwards that the Hawks woke up.

Connor Bedard got the ball rolling by serving a pass to Teuvo Teravainen for the Hawks’ first goal of the season and at the start of the third period, Nick Foligno reduced the gap to a single goal:

The score was then 3-2 in favor of Utah, but it was already too late for the Hawks.

André Tourigny’s team scored two other goals late in the match to escape with victory (5-2).

It’s hard to ask for a better way to start the season:

2: The Bruins and Panthers still hate each other

The Bruins and Panthers faced each other in the last playoff series and we noticed one thing in particular.

The two teams didn’t like each other very much… And obviously, that’s still the case:

The start of the game was electrifying for Panthers fans.

The club scored a goal quickly thanks to Sam Bennett and Eetu Luostarinen came to double his team’s lead a minute after Bennett’s net:

Again, there was a lot of animosity in the first half.

Matthew Tkachuk, who is known as a pest on the ice, found himself at the heart of another melee during the first period:

The Bruins reduced the gap to 2-1 thanks to a goal from Pavel Zacha, but Sam Reinhart decided to get involved afterwards.

While the Panthers were shorthanded, the man who scored 57 goals last season used his hands to score a simply magnificent goal:

The Panthers continued to dominate in the second period, so much so that the score was 5-2 at one point.

That said, this is where Max Jones got frustrated.

The Bruins player wanted to hit Evan Rodrigues with his stick, but he hit the referee instead:

Yikes…

In the third period, there were still a lot of emotions on the ice between the two teams.

Evan Rodrigues scored in the top corner with a perfect shot and there was a lot of brawling in front of the net afterwards:

The Bruins scored twice late in the game, but the damage was already done.

The Panthers leave with the victory (6-4) and they send a big message to the rest of the NHL that they are still here to be dangerous this season.

3: The Blues win their first match of the season

The Kraken hosted the Blues at home yesterday and tried to offer a great victory to their supporters.

It didn’t go as planned in the end.

The Kraken scored twice quickly in the second period, but…

But then it got worse.

The Blues were losing 2-0 and at one point in the second period, we started to see animosity on the ice:

It looks like the little scrum completely motivated the Blues, who never looked back after that.

The club scored three goals in a span of one minute and 55 seconds before the end of the second period and was able to hold the fort until the end of the match.

Jordan Kyrou stood out by scoring two breakaway goals:

Jordan Binnington was solid in the game stopping 30 of the 32 saves directed his way.

Kraken fans would have liked a better result, but the team ultimately lost by a score of 3-2.
