A Senegalese woman appointed United Nations Resident Coordinator in Togo

Coumba D. Sow, since she is the one we are talking about, is the new United Nations Resident Coordinator in Togo. She was appointed by UN Secretary-General António Guterres, with the approval of the host government, effective October 5.

With over 20 years of experience in the field of development and humanitarian assistance, Ms. Sow was previously Representative of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in Rwanda and Djibouti, Emergency and Resilience Coordinator for West Africa and the Sahel, and has held other leadership positions within the Organization, including Head of Africa in the Cabinet of the Director-General of FAO.

She also worked on agricultural and rural development policies in Africa, Asia and Latin America, Senego learned.
