It’s official, Veretout moves from OM to OL

As expected in recent days, Jordan Veretout leaves OM to join Olympique Lyonnais. The Marseille club is parting ways with a new member of its summer loft.

Even after the official closing of the transfer market in France, OM’s loft is emptying. After the departures of Pau Lopez to Girona, Samuel Gigot to Lazio and the very recent one of Azzedine Ounahi to Panathinaikos, Marseille recorded a new desired sale at the start of the transfer window.

This Wednesday, Olympique Lyonnais made official the arrival of Jordan Veretout. The French international midfielder (6 caps) is leaving a Marseille club that no longer counted on him, and wanted to get rid of a significant salary.

Mbemba, last member of the loft at OM

The transfer fee is 4 million euros, with bonuses of up to 3 million euros. A transfer that is also accompanied by a 25% capital gain in the event of a future resale. The former AS Roma player has signed a 2-year contract with the Rhone club.

An operation that leaves only Chancel Mbemba with the status of undesirable at OM, Ulisses Garcia having been reinstated to the first team. In conflict with the Marseille management, the Congolese central defender had been suspended in the middle of the summer after an altercation with Ali Zarrak, head of the Marseille reserve. A team that still welcomes the former Porto player, in an impasse in Marseille.
