The victim’s father will address the infamous criminal case in the preface of a comic book to be published on October 4, but has already announced his refusal to speak to the press.

Jean-Marie Villemin, the father of little Grégory, killed at the age of 4 in 1984, will speak about this famous criminal case in the preface of a comic strip to be published on October 3, the publisher announced on Tuesday, September 3. “Gregory” (editions The Arenas), with Pat Perna on the screenplay and Christophe Gaultier on the drawing, adopts the point of view of this father, focusing on his time in the assize court.

Jean-Marie Villemin was sentenced in 1993 to five years in prison, one of which was suspended, for the 1985 murder of his cousin Bernard Laroche, whom he remains convinced was Gregory’s murderer. Les Arènes did not provide any information on the text of this preface and specified that its author would not speak to the media.

The cover shows the little boy playing in front of a pile of sand, like the day he was kidnapped in Lépanges-sur-Vologne (Vosges). Gregory’s parents, Jean-Marie and Christine, have not appeared in the media since a television appearance in 1994. He wrote the afterword of “Word of a lawyer” by Thierry Moser in 2021.

The case is still under investigation, almost 40 years after the events. Jacqueline Jacob, Gregory’s great-aunt, her husband Marcel, and Muriel Bolle, a cousin of Bernard Laroche, were indicted in 2017 for Gregory’s kidnapping. But in 2018, these indictments were canceled due to procedural defects.
