Gilbert Bordes: “The missing woman from Saint-Sauveur”
Jean and Valérie Baltoret run a bakery and pastry shop renowned as far away as Lille thanks to their specialty called golden (very important in this story). They had a boy, François, and a daughter Marie, who died when she was around twenty years old. The “disappeared” had time to give birth to a daughter, Anaïs. Anaïs has grown up but poorly: she calls herself a runt, she considers herself ugly, she sinks into alcoholism. In turn, she disappears.
A very “simple” story beautifully told by Gilbert Bordes (of whom I am a fan).
