The Minister made comments on the reverse of those of the Minister of the Interior Bruno Retailleau, for whom “immigration is not a chance for France”.

It is not certain that this opinion is shared by the whole government. “We need work immigration, entrepreneurs wish”assured on Sunday, January 27, the Minister of Economy and Finance Eric Lombard on LCI, believing that France must “Of course” remain an immigration country. “We need immigration to fill the jobs in businesses, factories, hospital”argued the minister.

Asked about the budget which must be debated Thursday during a joint joint committee by deputies and senators, he noted that the idea of working one more day per year to finance social spending “received a fairly fresh welcome” with many political parties. But it remains “Favorable to the idea of finding the ways and ways to work more”.
On pensions, Eric Lombard judges that “Capitalization is a very good solution that exists for the public service”but will probably not be “A central element of the discussion” current between social partners who are trying to improve the reform of 2023.
