Since coming to power in July 2024, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer has promised to reduce the endless waiting lists faced by millions of patients to access care and treatment. According to a report published last September, the National Health Service (NHS) is in “critical condition”, after years of underinvestment, ineffective attempts at reorganization and the Covid-19 pandemic. The Labor government has thus promised to release additional resources, to the tune of 22.6 billion pounds (25.4 billion francs) by 2026. (AFP)
