The municipal college has selected the different places where these nine works will be located. He made sure to distribute them throughout the territory, in places visible and accessible to walkers and cyclists.
Three locations were chosen on the basis of a link with the animal. This is how Gérard Le Renard will settle on Dinant along the Meuse in Wépion (this village takes its name from the Latin Vulpilio which means “Terre à foxs”), Hector the beaver will eliminate home on the edge of Meuse, rue From shore to Dave, and Kadett the Reinette flourished near the towel in Beez, avenue Reine Élisabeth.
Some creatures will land in entities that do not yet welcome works of art: Didier Le Bourdon Place Arthur Borlée in Belgrade, Dédé Le Bousier Place de Longuenesse in Vedrin and Victor Le Pic-Vert in rent, at the corner of rue Bélair and a path.
As for Léon Le Héron, we will find him on rue des Bosquets in Salzinnes, on the site of the Harscamp rest house.
Martin the fisherman will return to the sources, in front of the Saint-Loup church in Namur, where he had spent a beautiful summer.
René La Taupe will be nomadic and will point its muzzle in the city center, according to the phases of the pedestrian extension site.
-€ 100,000 funded by Europe
Like the street art frescoes and sculptures that mark out the territory of the city, the creations of Kalbut are intended to animate the public space while challenging the public and inviting it to look at a new look at its daily environment.
Kalbut’s artistic journey was funded by the European Regional Development Fund (Feder) aimed at raising public awareness of the project “a peaceful, vegetated and friendly city”.
The young creator had been chosen by the municipal college to create these monumental animal sculptures from our region, for an amount of € 100,000, completely funded by the Feder.
He was selected both for his ecological approach (he practices the recovery of objects and materials), his favorite subjects (animals), the originality of his work, the playful and accessible character of his creations as well that their relevance in the perspective of an artistic journey.
