He was expressed on the sidelines of the opening of an international conference of three days on ” The conservation located ”, organized by the CRDS in partnership with the University of Vienna (Austria) and the Cultural Heritage Department of Senegal .
This conference, he said, was also organized to pay tribute to the former CRDS director, Fatima Fall Niang, who has worked a lot on this subject.
He magnified the fertile partnership between the UGB and the University of Vienna where “Rector Magatte Ndiaye had defended his thesis”.
The director appreciated the attachment of the CRDS to the UGB. These two entities, he said, work on extremely linked themes. “
The former CRDS director, Fatima Fall, insisted on the importance of exchanges in the wealth sector where I contributed to the achievement of certain objectives.

Among other things, she cited the inscription of the island of Saint-Louis on the World Heritage List in 2000, the “Thiébou Diene”, in 2021 and the writing of a book on this dish that was awarded , in 2023.
Ms. Niang has invited the new authorities to communicate a lot about these efforts so that they do not reduce themselves to nothingness and to keep this place of choice on the World Heritage List.
Noémie Etienne, teacher at the University of Vienna, praised the holding of this workshop, stating that the idea was born from her meeting with Fatima Fall Niang.
Other activities are planned during these three days, including in particular, a great tribute ceremony to Fatima Fall Niang, a lady who devoted her career to the CRDS.
