Professor of literature at Cheikh Anta Diop University, Madior Diouf passed away on the night of January 22 to 23, at the age of 86, at his home in Dakar. He leaves behind a cultural and political legacy that has profoundly influenced Senegal.
Born in Fimela, in the Fatick region, Professor Diouf, a student of Cheikh Anta Diop, also served as Minister of Culture in the second government of Moustapha Niasse. Madior Diouf was a committed intellectual and a fervent defender of the values of social justice.
The collection of the body will take place on Friday at the Main hospital, followed by burial in the Muslim cemetery of Yoff.
