It’s been a long time – a very long time – since we’ve had this much fun watching the Canadian.
It seems like everything is working lately: the team is able to beat big teams because all the players want to participate in CH’s success.
Saturday’s defeat against the Leafs was talked about for reasons we know, but it really seems to be a simple mistake when we look at the club’s performance for a little over a month.
The players did their part of the job, but there is also a lot of credit that goes to Martin St-Louis.
The Canadiens head coach sold a plan to his guys and they embarked on the project with him. Since everyone contributes in their own way, the Canadian wins!
At the beginning of January – when the CH had just finished its holiday trip – Eric Engels had launched the idea of seeing Martin St-Louis be one of the good candidates for Jack-Adams if the Canadian is in able to obtain his ticket for the elimination tournament.
But there, at the end of January, it is even clearer with the club’s recent successes: if the Canadian makes the playoffs, Martin St-Louis must win the Jack-Adams.
He must win the title of coach of the year in the NHL because there is no one on earth who placed CH in the playoffs two months ago.
Person !
Even though the Canadian is in an interesting position right now, there is no only one columnist from The Athletic who voted for CH to participate in the playoffs this season.
That says a lot about how some experts see the Canadian… And that’s exactly why St-Louis’ candidacy for the Jack-Adams (again, if the CH makes the playoffs) is logical!
There are some other interesting names that could be in the running for the trophy right now.
I’m thinking of Craig Berube, who is in his first season behind the Leafs bench (4th overall in the NHL)…
-I’m thinking of Scott Arniel, who is also in his first season with the Jets (2nd overall in the NHL)…
I’m thinking of John Hynes because there weren’t big expectations in Minnesota and the Wild are having quite a season (7th overall in the NHL)…
And ultimately, we have to think about Spencer Carbury (Capitals), who is the coach of the best team in the league at the time of writing these lines.
But in fact, what Martin St-Louis is currently accomplishing… It’s something.
Especially when we remember the team’s rank as of December 1, less than two months ago.
The Canadian was in the bottom of the league and was only just one point from last place of the overall NHL rankings.
It’s funny, but we don’t hear anyone say that Martin St-Louis is a pee-wee coach these days…
In burst
– Great experience for young people!
– Hehe.
– It is cute.
– Well done.
