INFO LE FIGARO – The head of state is testing three names for the presidency of the institution, with a view to an announcement at the beginning of February. He wishes to coordinate with Yaël Braun-Pivet and Gérard Larcher, who must also appoint one member each.
The last time Emmanuel Macron thought of Richard Ferrand for a position dates back to the summer of 2022. At the time, the outgoing president of the National Assembly had just been beaten in the legislative elections in his stronghold of Finistère. The head of state then saw fit to offer to make him his advisor at the Élysée. Polite refusal from the person concerned, decided to take the field with politics to retrain in consulting. Walled in silence since – he did not wish to respond to requests from Figaro -, this grumpy tendency curmudgeon is once again quoted behind the scenes for a prestigious position. According to our information, Emmanuel Macron plans to appoint him as president of the Constitutional Council, while Laurent Fabius' mandate expires on March 7. The head of state has not yet decided, however, since he is hesitating between this political profile and two other names with very different backgrounds: two state councilors with accomplished careers.
