After the resounding success of his concert “The Last Dance” at Dakar Arena, rapper Omzo Dollar gave an exclusive interview to Malick Ndoye. This meeting allowed the artist to express himself on this significant event, his rivalry with Dip Doundou Guiss, as well as his ambitions for Senegal.
“The Last Dance” concert gathered a considerable crowd, confirming Omzo Dollar’s popularity in Senegalese rap, also known as “galsen rap”. He pointed to the event as a defining moment in his music career, while hinting that he might consider a gradual end to his rap journey.
Faced with questions about his rivalry with rapper Dip Doundou Guiss, Omzo explained that his actions were simply responses to provocations, and that he has no regrets. This confrontation was an integral part of his journey.
Omzo Dollar also expressed his immense desire to contribute to the development of Senegal. He mentioned being in conversation with figures close to the president, although he did not wish to go into details. His commitment therefore extends well beyond music, because he aims to play a significant role in the social, cultural and political domain of his country.
