The femicide of Nneoma, a 25-year-old mother killed and dismembered in July 2024 in Niort, is on everyone's minds today. But two years earlier, in the summer of 2022, another femicide affected Deux-Sèvres, in Thouarsais. On June 11, the body of Patricia Gomit, 51, was discovered at her home in Val-en-Vignes by her stepson when she was going to a baptism.
Very quickly, his companion at the time, a 55-year-old man of Turkish origin, was suspected. But the latter then denied any involvement, explaining that he had been kidnapped by two men with his partner's car. A story quickly called into question by the exploitation of fadettes and video surveillance, which revealed that he had taken the road towards the Spanish border.
Father accused of raping his daughter
“This version is no longer that of my client”recalls Me Ambroise Garlopeau, at the dawn of the trial of the fifty-year-old before the Deux-Sèvres Assize Court, indicted for murder by spouse and incarcerated for two and a half years. “He categorically denies the facts and hopes that the Assize Court will not convict him. » The accused has a long criminal record of twelve convictions, he will have to convince the jury in a trial which will last three days, from January 20 to 22. The victim's family will be defended by Me Fabien Arakelian.
Note that as with Nneoma in Niort, Patricia had filed a complaint against her companion only a month before his murder, for aggravated violence and death threats. A complaint dismissed by the Niort public prosecutor's office.
-Following the Val-en-Vignes case, on January 23 and 24, the Deux-Sèvres Assize Court will look into acts of incestuous rape of a minor. A man now aged 45 will have to answer for the rape of his own daughter, between 2018 and 2021, when she was only 10 years old when the facts began. He will be defended by Me Aurélien Bourdier, while the victim and her mother will be advised by Me Pauline Bossant.
Second instance for acts of torture at Vivonne prison
The lawyer will not request a closed session for this trial, “to publicly confront the accused with the ignominy of his actions”. She specifies that in 2016, the forty-year-old “had already been convicted of sexual assault, this time on the victim’s older sister.”
Finally, after two days of trial before the juvenile court for a rape case, an appeal trial will be held on January 30 and 31 in Niort. On April 3, 2024, the Vienne criminal court found Abdessalam Slamani guilty of torture with a weapon against his fellow inmate in a cell in Vivonne, in 2021. He was sentenced to ten years of criminal imprisonment at first instance, before appealing. He will be defended by Me Nathanaël Ormillien.
