A potential case of doping hits Swiss ice hockey. In a press release on Friday, Swiss Sport Integrity indicated that an investigation was opened against Kloten striker Miro Aaltonen for a potential anti-doping rule violation.

The Zurich club’s top scorer has been provisionally suspended until Swiss Sport Integrity has rendered its final judgment. The Finn will not be on the ice at Les Vernets this Friday for the match against Genève-Servette.

Author of 35 points, 20 goals, in 35 outings this season, Miro Aaltonen was one of the great architects of the surprising championship achieved by his team. It occupies 6th place in the National League with a collection of 62 units in 39 days.

Kloten reacted following the announcement of his player’s suspension. “EHC Kloten officials and players were informed on Friday at 4 p.m. Until further details are known or confirmed, the club will not provide any further information and refers to the Swiss guidelines for the integrity of sport.

On December 3, Miro Aaltonen signed a two-year contract with CP Bern, starting with the 2025-2026 season. For the moment, the Capital club has not made a statement concerning its future player.
