The European far right will be welcome at Donald Trump's inauguration at the White House on January 20. A delegation of elected representatives from Patriots for Europe, the third force in the European Parliament, was invited to the event and will be present on Monday in Washington, Le Parisien learned.
Chaired by Jordan Bardella, the Patriots for Europe group, located on the far right of the political spectrum, has 86 MEPs from 12 different countries. With 30 MEPs, the National Rally is the main delegation of the group. On inauguration day, the French party will be represented by Louis Aliot, Julien Sanchez, and Alexandre Sabatout.
At the same time, Marion Maréchal, granddaughter of Jean-Marie Le Pen, was also invited as vice-president of the Party of European Conservatives and Reformists, as were Éric Zemmour and Sarah Knafo, the president and sole MEP of the Reconquest party.
-Several political leaders with ideas close to Donald Trump have already confirmed their presence. Among them, Giorgia Meloni, the Italian Prime Minister, but also Viktor Orbán, the Hungarian Prime Minister, and Javier Milei, the Argentine President.
The United States capital is preparing for the inauguration of Donald Trump, with an unprecedented level of security, after an electoral campaign marked by violence. The inauguration will be the third “special national security event” in just two weeks, following the certification of the election results and the state funeral of former US President Jimmy Carter.
