Ghanaian President John Dramani Mahama is making a courtesy visit to Senegal this Friday afternoon, we learned from the Senegalese presidency.
”The newly elected President of the Republic of Ghana, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, will pay, this Friday, January 17, 2025 in the afternoon, a courtesy visit to his counterpart the President of the Republic of Senegal, His Excellency Bassirou Diomaye Faye,” indicates a press release sent to the APS.
The same source adds that ”this visit, the first since he took office, reflects the excellent quality of relations between our two countries and the common desire to strengthen cooperation in areas of mutual interest”.
President Bassirou Diomaye Faye participated, on January 6, in Accra, in the inauguration of the new Ghanaian head of state, John Dramani Mahama.
-Jon Dramani Mahama won the Ghanaian presidential election on December 7 with 56% of the votes ahead of the ruling candidate, the outgoing vice-president, Mahamudu Bawumia.
Outgoing head of state Nana Akufo-Ado was not a candidate after serving two terms at the head of this West African country.
