In just a few years, the London brand Nothing has made its place in the world of smartphones and connected products. Since its launch in 2021 with the Ear headphones (1), the company led by Carl Pei has expanded its range by offering smartphones with unique designs and products focused on attractive value for money.
Over the course of 2024, Nothing has seen remarkable growth, doubling its annual revenue to over $500 million according to Bloomberg. With around 7 million devices sold to date, the brand has also crossed the symbolic billion dollar mark in total sales. These impressive figures can be explained by a strong presence in India, Germany and the United Kingdom for smartphones, as well as in the United States, Japan and Europe for headphones.

To strengthen its position, Nothing plans to expand its operations and is seeking to raise an additional $100 million. This expansion could notably support the development of the brand’s next flagship product, the Nothing Phone (3), a new AI-focused device.
The Nothing Phone (1) gets a final update
Launched in summer 2022, the Nothing Phone (1) remains an emblematic product of the brand. Initially equipped with Android 12, it benefited from three years of major updates, the most recent being Android 15, via the Nothing OS 3.0 interface. This latest update likely marks the end of software developments for this model, in line with the manufacturer’s commitment to provide three years of system updates and an additional year of security patches.
The Android 15 update is available OTA and brings notable improvements, although some features like Circle to Search remain exclusive to newer models.
A year 2025 loaded with announcements
With the launch of the Nothing Phone (2a) and its variants in 2024, Nothing has confirmed its ability to meet user expectations. This affordable and attractive model played a key role in the commercial success of the firm. At the same time, its derivative brand CMF, focused on more accessible products, has made it possible to broaden its audience while maintaining a quality image.
As 2025 begins, eyes are turning to the Nothing Phone (3), rumors of which point to major innovations, including further integration of artificial intelligence.
