Wednesday evening’s draw for “Joker”, a Loterie Romande game, delivered its verdict: one person won the jackpot of 2.96 million francs. But it is impossible to establish whether it is one of the “serial players” who have hit the headlines in recent days, notes the “Tribune de Genève”.
Last weekend and at the start of the week, an organized group went to dozens of kiosks in Geneva, then in Zurich, to buy thousands of “Joker” tickets. Objective of the operation: play all possible combinations and thus win the cup. Loterie Romande and its German-speaking counterpart Swisslos had temporarily suspended the game. An investigation was launched into the legality of the process used by the players.
