Kidnapped and raped? An open file for Maya, 9 years old, found in a squat with a 41-year-old homeless man

At the time of writing these lines, it is not yet possible to know precisely what the suspect is accused of and what he may have committed against young Maya. As the prosecution specifies, “at this stage, all the elements necessary to establish the facts precisely are not yet available. The investigation must continue to clarify the exact circumstances of the events of the night of January 12 to 13 and no definitive conclusion can be made drawn as to the possible guilt of the suspect”. The Charleroi public prosecutor’s office indicates that it will not communicate further.
