A road tragedy leaves Flixbus in mourning. The accident of a coach of the German company traveling between Germany and Poland left two dead and injured Saturday on a motorway in the north of the country, the company said.

The road accident occurred in the afternoon on the route between Berlin and the Polish city of Szczecin, according to a Flixbus press release.

Eleven injured

Among the 14 people on board, including a driver, “two people died. The other occupants were transported to nearby hospitals,” the statement said. According to local police, the victims are a 29-year-old woman and a 48-year-old man. The police counted eleven injured, including the bus driver.

“The exact circumstances of the accident are not yet known,” adds the company. German media footage showed the bus overturned on its side, along the highway barrier near thick piles of snow

Flixbus is a German company managing a large fleet of long-distance coaches in several European countries, Morocco and the United States.
