During these meetings, the minister reiterated the Kingdom’s commitment to sharing its experience in the agricultural field with brotherly and friendly countries, for the development of sustainable and productive African agriculture.

Thus, Mr. El Bouari held discussions with his counterparts from Tanzania, Ethiopia, Angola and Eswatini, who expressed the desire of their countries to benefit from the Moroccan experience in the development of productivity, notably through the modernization of agricultural practices.

The government official also spoke with the agriculture ministers of Senegal, the Democratic Republic of Congo, South Sudan, Uganda and Rwanda.

On this occasion, Mr. El Bouari reviewed the Moroccan experience in the field of irrigation, emphasizing the achievements accomplished by the Kingdom, under the enlightened leadership of HM King Mohammed VI, in terms of management of water resources, particularly dam policy.

In the same sense, he highlighted major projects relating to the management of water resources and irrigation, such as the Sebou and Bouregreg Basins interconnection project, which constitutes an innovative solution in terms of adaptation to climate change.

During these interviews, emphasis was also placed on the Moroccan experience in the production and use of fertilizers.

The work of the CAADP Summit opened on Thursday in Kampala, with the participation of a large Moroccan delegation led by Mr. Ahmed El Bouari and composed in particular of the Secretary General of the Department of Agriculture, Redouane Arrach, the director of ‘Irrigation and Agricultural Spatial Development, within this department, Zakaria El Yacoubi, and the Ambassador of Morocco to the United Republic of Tanzania and the Union of the Comoros, Zakaria El Goumiri.

The summit, organized by the African Union Commission, is attended by more than 2,000 participants, including heads of state, government officials, representatives of the private sector and civil society, as well as experts and scientists. .

During this event, under the theme “One voice, one land”, participants will work towards the development and adoption of the CAADP Action Plan (2026-2035) and the Kampala Declaration.
