Barça finds itself at the heart of a controversy following the decision of the Superior Sports Council (CSD) to grant temporary authorization allowing the registration of Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor. This intervention provokes the indignation of several clubs, in particular Atlético de Madrid and Las Palmas, who denounce a serious attack on the principles of fairness and respect for the rules of professional football.
Atlético de Madrid first released a statement expressing concern over the decision, which it described as “governmental intervention”. The rojiblanco club believes that this measure calls into question the current system of economic control of LaLiga, an essential mechanism to ensure the solvency and integrity of Spanish football. According to Atlético, this precedent could encourage circumvention of the rules, thus compromising a fair competition. “Without clear and equal standards for all, fair competition is not possible,” says the club.
The president of Las Palmas releases strong words
For his part, Miguel Ángel Ramírez, president of Las Palmas, was just as critical. In an interview with COPE, he compared this situation to a neighbor who breaks common rules for his own benefit. Although he recognizes that the CSD acted “in good faith”, he considers that this decision constitutes a serious error which “prostitutes the regulations of LaLiga”. Ramírez insists that all clubs must respect collectively agreed standards, emphasizing that Barça’s interests cannot prevail over those of others.
