The Minister responsible for Housing Valérie Létard confirms that, due to a lack of a 2025 budget, aid for MaPrimeRénov’ energy renovation work is delayed. Payment deadlines are extended for all files that have been “educated since January 1”explained the minister on Thursday Figaro. The “special law”, which authorizes ministries to incur expenditure within the limit of appropriations opened in 2024, only ensures essential expenditure.

For all the files examined last year, there will be no payment problem, the minister’s entourage told franceinfo, because they are included in the 2024 budget.

The French Building Federation (FFB) fears serious consequences for the sector and is urgently calling for a finance law. “This situation, a new hitch to a system which did not need it after the mistakes of early 2024, will clearly cause a wait-and-see attitude and lead households to abandon the work they were planning”wrote the FFB this Friday in a press release.

But these delays in payment of aid, in the absence of a budget, do not call into question the system. The latter was extended thanks to a decree and an order published in December, signed at the last minute before the censorship of Michel Barnier’s government. They plan to retain the rules in force concerning aid for isolated renovation work, known as “mono-gestures”. “The quasi-renewal at the last minute of the MaPrimeRénov’ scales had given new hope, only in the slightly growing building market”underlines the FFB.
