The Quebec Advisory Committee on Travelers’ Health (CCQSV) is a committee of experts set up by the Public Health Protection Directorate of the Ministry of Health and Social Services in 1992 to respond to the needs expressed in the various regions of Quebec. Today, this committee brings together experts in travel health, public health, pharmacology and microbiology. It is now part of the National Institute of Public Health of Quebec.
Mandates
- Provide expertise to the public health and travel health network in the prevention of health problems related to travel abroad, that is to say:
- Monitor the global epidemiological situation, as well as other parameters that could change the recommendations to be given to travelers;
- Produce and disseminate information, opinions and recommendations concerning health problems related to travel abroad;
- Issue guidelines intended for professionals interested in traveler health and regularly update the Travel Health Intervention Guide;
- Endorse the content relating to the vaccination of travelers in the Quebec Immunization Protocol;
- Provide support (consulting expertise, training) to regional public health stakeholders;
- Identify needs and propose training activities for front-line workers interested in traveler health;
- Identify research topics and indicate their priority.
