The city of Tiznit will host from January 11 to 14, the cultural event “Tiflwine” dedicated to the celebration of the Amazigh New Year 2975.
Initiated by the Municipality of Tiznit, in collaboration with the Provincial Council and civil society, this celebration is a continuation of the Royal decision announced by HM King Mohammed VI, to establish January 14, corresponding to the first day of the Amazigh year, as an official public holiday in Morocco, indicates a press release from the organizers.
Organized under the theme “Land and Identity in Celebration”, this event offers a series of activities illustrating the cultural diversity of Tiznit, such as tasting spaces presenting traditional dishes linked to “Iẓ n IYar”, as well as the celebration of “Al-Ma’ruf” which reflects the values of social solidarity.
Visitors will also have the opportunity to witness artistic performances, such as “Ahwash” dances and collective arts representing different regions.
On the menu for this edition are also spiritual events including Sufi evenings, Koranic recitations and prophetic praises, as well as reading and calligraphy workshops, in addition to an exhibition of local jewelry.
According to the organizers, this cultural event aims to strengthen Amazigh culture, a pillar of Moroccan identity, and to promote the knowledge economy and the heritage of Tiznit, while highlighting traditional crafts and local products, as well as as the different artistic expressions.
It also aims to promote Amazigh heritage and civilization, artistic practices, and creative talents, through various activities distributed in forty distinct spaces on the “Tiflwine” route.
