A strange figure in social life has passed away. Jocelyn Wildenstein, nicknamed “the cat woman” because of her extensive use of cosmetic surgery in the supposed hope of looking like a feline, has died. The “jet-setter” died Tuesday in , her companion told AFP on Wednesday. An “icon is gone”, Lloyd Klein said on Wednesday, expressing his “pain”. Jocelyn Wildenstein died of a pulmonary embolism in a Parisian palace. She was 79 years old.

Born in Lausanne (Switzerland) on September 7, 1945, Jocelyn Perisset entered the world of New York high society by marrying the art dealer Alec Wildenstein, whose surname she kept after their divorce in 1998 and with whom she had two children.
