the Minister of the Economy Eric Lombard speaks out in favor of “very limited” tax increases in the next budget

This is the big part of the mission of the Minister of the Economy. Eric Lombard outlined the outlines of the draft budget that he will present to the parties next week in an interview with La Tribune Sunday. He spoke out in favor of possible “very limited” tax increases, “additional savings” and for the objective of reducing the public deficit “a little above 5%” you PIB “to protect growth”.

In order to successfully get his text across, he announces want to invite all parties to dialogue at Bercy in the coming days, hoping that “compromises” will be found to promote the adoption of a budget. “By sharing information about the reality of the situation, I will do everything possible to ensure that a budget is adopted.” A budget which will partly take up the Barnier government's project, while the previous government was precisely censored on this text.

Concerning the possible adjustment of the law on pensions, it “issues a condition” : discussions “must not increase the old age insurance deficit”. There is “grit to grind within this constraint”he wants to believe.

Eric Lombard also wants to reassure the French who do not pay income tax: “We will have a budget which will include an indexation of the scale. The French who do not pay income tax today will not pay any tomorrow.”
