Former US President Bill Clinton, aged 78, has been hospitalized since Monday with a fever, according to his entourage.

Former President of the United States Bill Clinton, aged 78, was admitted to hospital in Washington DC on Monday, December 23, but those around him are reassuring.

“President Clinton was admitted to Georgetown University Hospital this afternoon for testing and remains under observation after contracting a fever. His spirits are high and he is grateful for the quality of care received,” Angel wrote Urena on X.

The former US president has had to be hospitalized in the past, such as in 2004 when he underwent quadruple coronary bypass surgery to free four blocked arteries, and in 2010 when he underwent angioplasty. Most recently, in 2021, BIll Clinton was hospitalized with sepsis.

Bill Clinton was President of the United States between 1993 and 2001. The Democrat supported Kamala Harris during the last American presidential campaign, a few months ago. The former tenant of the White House spoke on the third day of the Democratic convention last August and rallied the age of Donald Trump, then Republican candidate for the presidency.

“Two days ago, I turned 78. I am the oldest man in my family. And the only pride I can take from that is to say that I am still younger than Donald Trump ( two months older, Editor's note),” Bill Clinton said. This fall, the former American leader also published his memoirs, entitled Citizen.
