Four shootings in a few days in Brussels, mired in violence linked to drug trafficking
An infamous hotspot
Last October, no less than four shootings broke out in the space of a few days in this same corner of the Aumale district. To the point that the Brussels region decided to make it a “hotspot”, that is to say, officially recognize the places as a problematic point linked to the deal and related violence. And thus, strengthen security in the neighborhood.
“Society may not be more violent, but criminals no longer have many scruples”
It is clear that this did not prevent a person from being killed on Sunday. The Free has also learned that the investigations are in the hands of the federal judicial police (PJF) in Brussels.
According to figures from the federal police, at least 89 shootings have already been recorded this year in Brussels, having cost the lives of 9 people and leaving 48 injured. Last year, there were 62 shootings, leaving 4 dead and 28 injured. The year 2024 is therefore already experiencing a sad record.
