Mother Nature has decided that Quebecers will be entitled to a white Christmas, while 10 to 15 centimeters of snow are expected this Monday in the southwest and center of the province.
Caution is recommended, as road conditions will be difficult this holiday eve.
The low pressure system will particularly affect western Quebec as well as Montreal, Montérégie, Lanaudière, the Laurentians, Mauricie, Centre-du-Québec and Estrie.
At least that's what Environment Canada predicts, which has published a special weather bulletin for around forty sectors.
“An accumulation of 10 to 15 centimeters of snow could disrupt travel, particularly at the start of the holiday season,” the federal agency said on its website.
The snow, which will enter from western Quebec, will begin in the afternoon in Montreal, where maximum temperatures will be minus eight degrees.
Unlike Estrie, the Capitale-Nationale will be relatively spared with perhaps little accumulation of snow, just like Saguenay, but gray weather will prevail under biting cold throughout the day.
In Eastern Quebec, the federal agency forecasts a few snow showers in Gaspésie and an alternation of sun and clouds elsewhere under seasonal temperatures.
For Tuesday, the snow should stop in the morning to give way to some clearings in most of Quebec.
