Fortnite Started Refunding $245 Million To Players After Admitting To Cheating Them

Why is Epic Games refunding money to players?

In 2022, Epic Games agreed to pay $245 million to compensate players affected by Fortnite's alleged “counterintuitive, inconsistent, and confusing button layout” that the FTC said led to unwanted purchases.

Currently, the FTC is sending payments to players who submitted valid claims before October 8, 2024but it examines complaints received after this date.

You still have time to file a claim for a refund from Fortnite if you haven't done so already, because The FTC is giving players until January 10, 2025 to file a complaint. You can find more information about refunds on the FTC website.

For clarification, these refunds and claims can only be requested if you are players residing in the United States and have resided in this territory for the past four years, as the FTC is a North American agency and has jurisdiction only in this country.
