An investigation is opened after the discovery of a young man, seriously injured, in the Drie Fonteinen park in Vilvoorde.
An 18-year-old young man from Nivelles was found seriously injured in Drie Fonteinen Park in Vilvoorde (Flemish Brabant) on Saturday afternoon. The victim was bleeding profusely and had stab wounds. She was taken to hospital. An investigation was opened by the Hal-Vilvoorde public prosecutor's office for attempted murder.
“According to the victim's initial statements, she took the train towards Brussels-North, then got into a car there with other people. On the way, she was then attacked with a bladed weapon, then finally abandoned at the Drie Fonteinen estate.“, explained the spokesperson for the prosecution Gilles Blondeau.
The lab and a medical examiner were called. The young man received two stab wounds, to the torso and upper leg. He is seriously injured, but his life is not in danger, added the prosecution. The judicial police of the VIMA police zone (Vilvoorde/Machelen) were tasked with continuing the investigation.
