The Super Diamono Fan Club Association (Afsud) is preparing a memorable evening to celebrate its 35th anniversary, on December 24 at the Officers' Mess Circle.

Samba Ndour, president of the association, returned to the celebration of the event during his appearance on the RTS show Midi Première.

Created 35 years ago, Afsud is a non-profit association which brings together fans of the legendary group Super Diamono, headed by Omar Pene, icon of Senegalese music. Today, the association has more than 35,000 members, both in Senegal and within the diaspora.

According to Samba Ndour, the evening of December 24 will mark the end of a national week rich in activities, placed under the slogan “Culture at the service of development”.

Among the events organized are a photo exhibition, a blood donation day, as well as humanitarian actions at the Women's Detention and Correction Center in Penal Camp. An integration day with Youssou Ndour's fans club was also held, strengthening ties between music lovers.

Samba Ndour praised the commitment of the RTS, which took the initiative to pay tribute to Omar Pene and to accompany Afsud in its celebrations. “Their support is a recognition of the role of culture in development,” he said.

For his part, Omar Pene promises an exceptional evening. The artist announces the presence of surprise guests, from both the Senegalese and international music scenes, to mark this important stage in the history of Afsud.

“Super Diamono fans and lovers of Senegalese music can expect an unforgettable celebration, between culture, social commitment and tribute to an emblematic artist,” promises the president of Afsud.
