Tamedia also reaches an agreement with the staff representatives of its printing works

In the printing sector, two successive closures take place within the group Tamedia. Overcapacity in recent years does not allow three printing plants to be operated profitably. THE CIL Lausanne Printing Center in Bussigny (VD) will be closed at the end of March 2025 and DZZ printing center in Zurich end of 2026. The Bern printing works will be maintained. Tamedia can thus offer long-term production security for its own titles as well as for external customers.

After the editorial process, Tamedia reached an agreement with the staff representatives of the CIL printing centers in Bussigny and DZZ in Zurich on two new social plans and an extensive package of additional services. Tamedia offers Zurich employees a job guarantee until the closure at the end of 2026 and CIL employees a bonus at the time of the planned closure of the company. In addition, the emphasis is on extensive support and guidance during career reorientation.

In addition to the basic benefits of the social plan such as severance pay and financial assistance, Tamedia has commissioned experts to support employees with individual training for professional reorientation and career planning (e.g. retraining and continuing training, interview training, etc.) and actively prepare them for a new start.

Additional services for the two printing plants CIL in Bussigny and DZZ in Zurich include, among other things, early retirement without pension reduction for long-term employees as well as additional support for families with dependent children.
