Several elected officials from the left on Thursday singled out words attributed in the newspaper “Le Monde” to Emmanuel Macron on the situation at the hospital, accusing them of “racist”.

Words that shock. In a daily survey The World, citing reported remarks, the head of state would have said, in 2023 before his then Minister of Health Aurélien Rousseau, that “the problem with emergencies in this country is that it’s full of Mamadous”. These words “are racist. Undoubtedly. They are overwhelming”castigated communist senator Ian Brossat on X. “These racist remarks by the President of the Republic, reported by the newspaper Le Monde, are an insult to the Republic. It’s an absolute disgrace. I can’t wait for him to go away.” wrote on the same network the coordinator of La insoumise Manuel Bompard, expressing indignation like many LFI deputies.

“Everything goes: racism, homophobia, sexism. All locked up in a gilded palace, far from the gaze of the French, to whom he lectures all day long.added for his part the deputy of the François Ruffin, also citing other sentences attributed to the tenant of the Elysée by this long-term investigation of the Monde.

The daily assured in particular on Wednesday that the Elysée had baptized Matignon “La cage aux Folles” when the Prime Minister was Gabriel Attal. And on Thursday, he indicated that the president had qualified Marine Tondelier, head of the Ecologists, and Lucie Castets, proposed by the New Popular Front for Matignon, as “casseroles”. “Yesterday we learned of extremely shocking homophobic comments from the President of the Republic about Gabriel Attal. Today these are sexist remarks […] We’re looking forward to tomorrow…”denounced on X Marine Tondelier.
