Hamilton is set to make his debut behind the wheel of a Ferrari F1 at Fiorano before starting his first season in red, it will all depend on the weather.
Il 2025 represents a new challenge for Lewis Hamilton who, after 12 seasons at Mercedes, he will join the Scuderia Ferrari. It’s a truly unique event, with the 7-time world champion who will join the most successful team in F1.
Contractual constraints and the planned farewell to Mercedes they prevented Hamilton from making his official debut in red before 2025but there are plans for January 2025 in the works.
Vasseur rimane cautohowever, considering that there is still no certainty. The weather will play a big part in the success of the Briton’s debut in January. Furthermore, TP Ferrari is worried about the little time there is before the start of the season.

Vasseur’s words
Fred Vasseur has teased that Lewis Hamilton could make his Ferrari F1 debut as early as January 2025.
TP Ferrari said: “We will have the opportunity to do a day of TPC or Pirelli testingbut it is strictly linked to weather conditions and we haven’t made a decision yet.”
AutoRacer reported as possible date January 21st or 22ndif the weather permits.
In any case, as anticipated, Vasseur is also concerned about the tight timeframe between now and the start of the F1 season. February 19, the date of the Ferrari presentation, precedes the pre-season tests in Bahrain by just a week.
Vasseur said it is a challenge to get a private session in Fiorano before the celebrations for the start of the season.
“Why it all starts from the beginning of January until the season launches on the 18th in Londonthen we will make the actual presentation on the 19th in Maranello” – he added – “It means that we basically only have six weeks, which is not easy.”
Hamilton a Maranello
Lewis Hamilton has already made a private visit to the Scuderia Ferrari headquarters in Maranello to get to know his new team. It’s a big change for the British rider, but his new TP believes he has the experience needed to adapt quickly to the new environment.
Vasseur said: “I think Lewis [Hamilton] is very experienced, he is not the rookie of the year. This means that I’m not worried about this aspect at all. And then there is also the continuity of the previous regulation which works in our favor.”
“So that means we have some reference. I’m not worried”, he explained.
Finally, he reiterated that all teams will have little time to prepare ahead of the first round of the 2025 season in Melbourne.
“It’s true that it will be a challenge. If we imagine going to Bahrain and perhaps encountering a storm like the one a couple of years ago, we know we only have three days available and so it is”, he concluded.
