A teenager was killed shortly after 8 a.m. this morning in front of the Rodin high school, in the 13th arrondissement of Paris, in a brawl between rival gangs, the Paris prosecutor's office told France 3 Paris Île-de-France. This “minor was in cardio-respiratory arrest (…) presenting head injuries and a knife being discovered near him” et, “despite Samu's attempts to resuscitate him, he was pronounced dead at 9:15 a.m.“, details the floor.
“Territorial security 75 is seized of a murder investigation“, indicates the same source. When the police arrived, “the protagonists had fled“, indicates a police source atAFP.
“There were a lot of police and firefighters… They blocked the street. There was someone on the ground, a firefighter was doing cardiac massage“, explains Ruban, who works in a nearby bakery.
Contacted, the town hall of the 13th arrondissement confirmed that the events took place around 8 a.m. near the establishment, rue Corvisart. The Ministry of National Education specifies that the victim, aged 16, was educated in a vocational high school in Alfortville, in Val-de-Marne, according to theAFP. The fight took place “at the foot of a building near Square René-Le Gall“, still according to the ministry.
The prosecution indicates that “this murder is a continuation of a phenomenon of recurring brawls between young people in the 13th arrondissement sector, where 8 clashes have been observed since May 2024“.
“This phenomenon is the subject of close attention by specific GLTDs (local delinquency treatment groups), bringing together the Paris public prosecutor's office, the police headquarters, the regional prefecture, the city of Paris, national education and judicial protection of youth, so that warning signs are detected as early as possible, communicated to other actors, and trigger preventive patrols as close as possible to areas of concern“, adds the prosecution.
