The strategic choices made by Morocco under the High Royal Guidelines have enabled the Kingdom to make significant progress, thus strengthening its regional position and opening up new markets.

During his speech in the House of Representatives, the Head of Government, Aziz Akhannouch, stressed that the organization of CAN 2025 and the 2030 World Cup illustrates the growing attractiveness of Morocco for major international events.

With this in mind, ongoing preparations include the rehabilitation of major sports infrastructures in cities such as Rabat, Tangier, Marrakech, Agadir, Casablanca and Fez. An emblematic project, the Grand Stade Hassan II in Benslimane, currently under construction, plans to accommodate up to 115,000 spectators, thus strengthening Morocco’s capacity to host large-scale sporting, cultural and economic events.

At the same time, the government launched a five-year 2024-2028 program aimed at eradicating unsanitary housing, benefiting 120,000 families, while continuing integrated urban development. This program provides for the modernization of road, tourist and social infrastructure in the six host cities, in order to provide an adequate framework for sports competitions and meet the needs of citizens.

MAkhannouch also highlighted structuring cultural projects, such as the promotion of historical heritage in Tangier, Fez, Chellah and Témara, as well as the creation of archaeological centers in Sijilmassa and Jbel Ighoud.
