Flamboyant scenography

Two performances were organized, at 6:30 p.m. and 9 p.m. In the audience, we spoke French, Dutch, German but also English. It must be said that many Americans crossed the Atlantic to attend this 80th anniversary of the Battle of the Bulge. Well bundled up given the forecast weather conditions, the spectators did not hesitate to take off their gloves to immortalize the moment using their phones. If the History is already known to everyone, going from Hitler’s takeover in 1933 and the rise of Nazism to the Liberation in 1945, including the attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941, the scenography had what to impress. Whether it was the light shows, the fireworks, the jets of flames or the images reflected on the Memorial, everything was there to amaze young and old alike. On stage, several dozen extras excelled, sometimes on the ground, sometimes in the air, playing dancers, civilians and soldiers.

Texans in the spotlight

If the show did not focus on the Battle of the Bulge as such and instead traced the thread of the Second World War, the focus was nevertheless placed on five young men, namely Aggies from Texas, young students in the field of agriculture. The public was able to discover how they were enlisted and how some of them perished. The opportunity to put ourselves in the place of these young soldiers who lost or risked their lives for our freedom, and to thank them, once again.
