According to our colleagues from L'Est Républicain, three cars were following each other in single file when the one in the lead, which was making worrying zigzags, ended up suddenly moving into the left lane. A heavy goods vehicle was arriving opposite and would not have succeeded in avoiding the accident, even by moving onto another lane at the last moment.
Around 4 p.m., the road was still closed to traffic. The emergency services carried out the extrication of the victims for a long time, and are still intervening in the middle of the afternoon to clean the road.
