Big traffic jams in Lausanne: a stuck bus could be the cause

You will have to be patient if you are currently driving in Lausanne. Traffic is severely disrupted near the Sébeillon sector, while a bus is blocking all traffic near the Route de Genève roundabout. The people who were inside were taken out.

“I think it’s going to take a while to free this thing,” confides a motorist from Vaud, who has been waiting impatiently in her car to be able to leave the city since 5 p.m.: “I did 200 meters in 30 minutes… and saying that I had to take the fondue out of the freezer.” Same story for those trying to reach the city center: “It’s a hell of a mess to get to Flon,” confides this same motorist. Another Vaudoise, on foot, testifies: “It’s terrifying, I’m used to returning by this road after work, I’ve never seen a blockage like that.”

When contacted, the municipal police indicated that there was no accident. “Traffic is severely disrupted, mainly because of the works. A bus is indeed blocked, but we must also take into account the drivers who are leaving the Center parking lot,” explains Alexia Hagenlocher, spokesperson for the Lausanne police. She assumes that traffic jams like this are likely to happen more and more often as the end of the year approaches: “With the holidays, there are probably more people in the city center.”
