A woman was found dead Tuesday morning at her home in Renens, the Vaud cantonal police reported this Wednesday.

It was around 7 a.m. that the victim’s husband, aged 64, alerted the authorities. “Law enforcement and paramedics intervened quickly, but resuscitation attempts did not save the victim, a 61-year-old Swiss woman,” the statement said.

Her husband, recognizing “his involvement” in his wife’s death, was immediately arrested and placed in pre-trial detention. A criminal investigation has been opened.
