The National Rally prepares minds for rapid government censorship

The National Rally (RN) would like to prepare people's minds for a (very) imminent censorship of the government that it would not do otherwise. The far-right party is increasing communications operations to play down the financial consequences of a possible fall of the team of Prime Minister Michel Barnier.

The day after the column by the president of the RN group in the National Assembly, Marine Le Pen, published in Le Figaro, against the « fake news » hawking it “risk of American-style “shutdown” [la fermeture des administrations] a case de censor du budget », Jean-Philippe Tanguy called a press conference on Wednesday, November 27, to support this message. While the government warns of the risk of financial crisis, with a “a Greek scenario”the deputy (RN) of the denounced “state lies”seeing in the executive's warnings “a vain attempt at communication to destabilize the normal path of democracy”.

And if his intervention was not enough to demonetize the “operetta Machiavellianism” of his opponents, the economic referent of the RN distributed a seventeen-page note entitled “The Ve République guarantees 's budgetary stability in the event of government censorship. » Compiling legal texts, hypotheses and “historical points”this document aims to prove that censorship would in no way affect the “fiscal stability” of the country and would be « sans impact » on public services, salaries of civil servants or the payment of social benefits. What about a resigning government? “The RN will, of course, vote for the special bill authorizing the collection of existing taxes”writes, with the code, M. Tanguy.

If the far-right party has not officially decided whether it will vote for a motion of censure – in unison with the left – against the government, it is already trying to debunk the accusations – of political and financial irresponsibility – of the executive against him. Enough to fuel the hypothesis of a rapid sanction. Possibly from Michel Barnier's first recourse to article 49.3 of the Constitution (which allows the adoption of a text without a vote), expected Monday December 2, to have the National Assembly adopt the bill for financing the Social Security (PLFSS).

Without waiting for the return to the deputies, later in the month, of the finance bill (PLF), necessary for the complete examination by the lepenists of the “final copy” executive budget? “A policy of exhaustion of deadlines [de négociations avec le gouvernement] would be a policy of the worst”warns Jean-Philippe Tanguy, considering that in the absence of any concession from Matignon in favor of the RN, “better to censor immediately”. “That leaves three weeks between now and the end of the year to turn around [et réviser la copie d’ici à 2025]justifies the deputy for the Somme. It's a question of rationality. »
