Former president of Raja, Mohamed Aouzal, detained in Casablanca

Mohamed Aouzal, former emblematic president of Raja Casablanca, was presented yesterday before the prosecution of the Casablanca court of first instance.

Following this appearance, the public prosecutor decided to prosecute him for breach of trust and complicity, ordering his placement in pre-trial detention in Oukacha prison.

This indictment of Mohamed Aouzal follows a complaint filed by an insurance company. This states that the former leader had concluded, in 2006, a partnership which was never honored, accusing him of not having paid installments worth an estimated value of around 4 billion dirhams.

Mohamed Ouzzal, known for his major role as “sage of Raja”, becomes the third former president of Raja to find himself facing justice in recent years, after Aziz El Badraouicurrently imprisoned, and Mohamed Boudrikawho is the subject of an arrest warrant.
