NHL: Senators will be able to rely on David Perron for two years

The Ottawa Senators have agreed to a two-year contract that will bring $8 million to 36-year-old Quebecer David Perron. He will receive an average of $4 million annually.

Perron will certainly bring some experience to a young locker room, having won the Stanley Cup in 2019 and played 17 seasons in the NHL.

Selected in the first round of the 2007 draft, Perron played 1,131 games in the NHL with the St. Louis Blues, Edmonton Oilers, Pittsburgh Penguins, Anaheim Ducks, Vegas Golden Knights and the Red Wings. He amassed 310 goals and 768 points during his career.

Last season in 76 games in Detroit, Perron collected 17 goals and 30 assists for a total of 47 games.

Gregor and Amadio also with the Senses

For his part, Michael Amadio will continue his career in a Senators uniform with a three-year contract and $2.6 million per season in his pocket.

Amadio had 27 points in each of his last two seasons in a Golden Knights uniform. He spent his last three seasons in Vegas.

Stanley Cup champion in 2023, Amadio has 112 points, including 57 goals, in 369 games in the NHL. He also played for the Los Angeles Kings and the Toronto Maple Leafs, in addition to playing five games with the Senators during the 2020-2021 season.

A one-year contract also allowed the Senators to add forward Noah Gregor to their roster on Monday.

Gregor had six goals and six assists in 63 games with the Toronto Maple Leafs in 2023-24 and appeared in two playoff games.

A fourth-round pick of the San Jose Sharks in 2016, Gregor has 32 goals and 31 assists during his 241-game NHL career. He is 25 years old.
